Home Composting (home pick-ups & local drop-off members)

How do weekly and bi-weekly pick-ups work?

If you choose the weekly option, make sure to leave your bucket out on your chosen service day. If you have chosen bi-weekly, we will pick-up your compost every other week.

Can I compost meat & dairy?

Yes you can, but we really only recommend this for our weekly residential pick-up subscribers or our community drop-off members. For those who are bi-weekly home pick-ups, we recommend only composting vegetarian ingredients to ensure a clean and safe composting experience for you and our team members.

What if I didn't put my bin out in time?

Let us know! We can swing by the following week, or you can order a special pick-up from the shop in your member dashboard and we will get a driver out to you within the next couple days.

How do I know what to compost?

We will email you a list of what you can and cannot compost. You can reference that list here.

I want to switch my service frequency from bi-weekly to weekly (or vise versa), how do I do that?

No problem, you can manage your service in the member dashboard area. You can visit your dashboard here.

Will the compost produce an odor or attract pests?

One to two weeks is not usually enough time for this to happen, but to prevent it, every bucket comes with a lid for this reason. Make sure you secure the lid after adding your compost to your Renüable bucket. If you produce a lot of organic waste or have a large household, we recommend weekly home pick-ups.

Renüable Commercial Composting

How much does this service cost monthly?

This all depends on how big your business is, what type of waste you have, and how many employees there are. Since these variables vary, we offer custom quotes for Commercial Composting clients based on your goals and needs.

How often are the containers picked up?

We aim for weekly pick ups, but in special circumstances we can pick up more often.

Will there be savings on my trash bill?

That depends on what percentage of your waste is compostable, who pays for your current waste management plan. We have heard from clients that they have seen a significant savings on their waste expenses due to our sealed bins only needing to be picked up once per week rather than their open-top containers previously needing multiple pickups per week.

Renüable Events & Wedding Composting

Do you offer compostable plates, cups, cutlery, etc.?

Yes, we do. Through our partnership with local sustainable businesses, like Lean Orb, we offer these as optional add-ons.

What areas do you serve when it comes to wedding/event composting?

Right now, we serve Broward, Miami-Dade, and Hillsborough counties. If you're in a neighboring county, please reach out because we may be able to accommodate you.

How does it work on the day of the event or wedding?

Before the event, we provide you with compostable plates, cups, cutlery, and other utensils. On the day of the event, we will get there around the time food and drinks will start being served to set-up. We will bring our Renüable truck to make sure we can handle all the waste being created!

Do you only serve events that serve food?

Even if your event doesn't feature any food or beverage services, reach out to us to see how we can divert the waste you are producing from landfills and determine what type of waste services would be best for you and your event.

Renüable Waste Audit & Consultation Services

How many waste audits should my business do?

If you work with us, just one. We make sure to provide all the data you need to make executive decisions in your business. If you have optimized your waste management but are looking to fine tune and streamline further, reach out to discuss a follow-up audit.

How long does your waste monitoring take?

We will need to monitor your waste producing cycle over a 24-hour timeframe.

How does this waste audit work?

Over the course of these 24 hours, we will record what type of waste is being thrown away and the weight of the waste. After the 24 hours is up, we will take this time to categorize the waste and provide our recommendations moving forward

What's the best way to ensure we follow your guidance on waste management post audit?

Education. You will need to educate your staff on the best practices for waste management moving forward. We find it helpful to explain to them why each step is being taken, this gives the staff a bit of autonomy and understanding, as well as giving them the power to proactively manage waste efficiently.

What if my city/municipality/county doesn't offer recycling services?

Another great benefit of working with us is that we're well connected in the sustainability industry. We know of private recycling businesses that we can put you in touch with to pick up your valuable recyclables like plastics, metals, and paper products.

Who can take care of my compostable waste?

Renüable can of course! Check out our Commercial Composting Program here.

Renüable Landscaping

Do you only use Renüable compost?

Compost is an essential part of Renüable landscaping, yes! However, it's not the only type of amendment being used. We also use soil that has been fortified with rich composting amendment, as well as mulch, pine needles, pine needles, and other soil building, root-protecting amendments.

What if I want specific features in my new landscape?

That's great! We invite you to be part of the process as we design the landscape of your dreams, after all this your space. We will try our best to work in the different elements you're looking for.

I'm looking to build out my garden, is this something Renüable can help me with?

Yes! Our goal is to make your landscape as sustainable as possible, and growing your own food is one of the best ways to accomplish that. Using our finished compost will also help your garden thrive.

Do I need a permit to transform my lawn into an edible food forest?

This will really come down to your local government's laws. Luckily, a newer (much awaited) law in Florida states that local governments cannot ban homeowners from growing fruits and vegetables in their own lawns. We'll take that as a win for the environment!

Do you offer maintenance after the transformation is complete?

Yes! This is a separate service we offer that you can enroll in. This includes pruning, maintaining tidiness
