The Food Recovery Hierarchy

Food recovery comes in many forms and methods. It is important to remember to make an effort to divert and then recover as much food waste as possible and upcycle it into usable food sources for hungry people and then divert it to animals before using it for energy production, or even composting!

Of course, any of those options are better than sending our valuable organics directly to a landfill, where they do not compost, and instead end up releasing methane and carbon dioxide gases which harm the environment.     We strive to work with community foundations to fight against hunger.
